San Miguel de Salinas is a very popular Spanish town just a 15-minute drive from the beaches of Mil Palmeras, Campoamor, Cabo Roig, La Zenia, Torrevieja, La Mata, Guardamar etc and surrounded by a beautiful landscape with citrus and almond trees and the Sierra Escalona National Park. You can walk and cycle for miles along the canal that runs right next to the city. There is a wide variety of bars and restaurants, both Spanish and international. If you are looking for a holiday destination or a place to live all year round, San Miguel is a great choice because it has all the amenities (primary and secondary schools with an excellent reputation, banks, health center that never closes, 3 pharmacies, large outdoor pool, football and athletics stadium, tennis courts, paddle courts, basketball courts,..... The weekly Wednesday market is a great opportunity to try locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables, ham, cheese, olives, clothing and shoes. There is a good local taxi service and buses to Torrevieja, Orihuela and Murcia run several times daily. Alicante and Murcia Airport are both around a 40-minute drive away.
